Today was mostly spent marking a set of books after procrastinating over them for a long while. The evening was spent having tea with my family for my dad’s birthday. He’s 64. There’s a song about that. Afterwards, we went straight to Grange Moor for a rehearsal before their first Christmas performance in Bradford next weekend.
The rest of my time was taken up with organising a bonus Morley And District Concert Band gig which will hopefully be sorted finally tomorrow. Many emails and texts have been sent to various people trying to coordinate a viable group of people to play. It’s the busiest time of year and a fine line needs to be struck between jobs to do and making sure they have free time with their families. Playing for Grange Moor and conducting Morley means that roughly 20 of the days running up to Christmas have some kind of band job going on.
Work this week should be fairly good. I’m looking forward to it anyway.
